Marcie Neubecker - Level 2 Teacher
Originally from Detroit, Marcie’s family relocated to the islands to escape the cold winters when she was in elementary school. Marcie now lives in North Kohala with her family. Her four-year-old son, Ethan, keeps her very busy. When she has time, Marcie enjoys reading, going to the beach, and riding bikes.
Marcie attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa and earned a B.A. in Communications and Speech. At the time, her focus was on conflict resolution and mediation. A summer job as a summer camp instructor at a dolphin facility quickly changed her direction and provided her with a new passion for teaching. For almost 10 years, Marcie worked at Dolphin Quest and helped to establish the on-site and outreach programs. Her main focus was to develop hands-on marine science curriculum for grades K-6.
